Introduction

Terminal window
npm install @ds-house/lumo-design-system

react and react-dom are peer dependencies — 19 or newer. The package ships ESM and CJS builds with TypeScript declarations generated from the JSDoc on the components.

tokens.css must come first. Every component declaration reads from it, so loading styles.css alone gives you unstyled components.

import '@ds-house/lumo-design-system/tokens.css';
import '@ds-house/lumo-design-system/styles.css';
import { Badge, Button } from '@ds-house/lumo-design-system';

Ten components are exported. Everything else is internal and may change in a patch.

Dark mode is the system’s own: tokens.css scopes its overrides to [data-theme="dark"], so setting that attribute on <html> is the whole of it. There is no second palette to maintain.

Component files import no CSS of their own, so importing one component does not pull a stylesheet in as a side effect. That is why the two imports above are not optional.
